Missing mans truck found in Texas!
Merryville police have located the pickup truck belonging to Jerry Lee Keel, who has been missing from Merryville since July 6, 2011.
After putting out a BOLO (be on the look-out) in the immediate areas, the MPD also sent a BOLO to authorities in Newton and Jasper Counties in Texas.
On Thursday evening, Merryville police were contacted by authorities in Jasper, Texas, with information that the 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck was found abandoned on the side of the road, north of Jasper.
Merryville officers then traveled to Jasper, Texas to retrieve the vehicle for processing and fingerprinting.
Keel has not yet been located, however, Merryville police are continuing to follow leads which will hopefully help find the missing man.
Keel, 56, was last seen on July 6, 2011, at his sister's house in Merryville, where he was supposed to return on July 7, but failed to show up.
He has a left side handicap that causes him to lean heavily to the left when he walks.
He is without his medication for blood pressure and nerves and could be ill or have bi-polar type symptoms, according to family members.
At this point police do not suspect foul play, however, no lead or tip will be overlooked in this investigation.
