Tame your vagina
If you've got one, then you know that the vagina is a tricky beast.
It's not that we don't love our vaginas, but women do tend to struggle to translate the many weird, wonderful and, at times, downright nasty messages coming from down there, and often are unsure how best to take care of their fiddly bits.
But first it's important to clear up a misconception.
"You know The ." We talk about the vagina as if the name refers to the whole of our girly package, but in fact the vagina is the bit inside, while "vulva" refers to all the fiddly bits on the outside.
Keeping things clean
Seeing as we're nicely focused on that spot between our legs, let's start with how one should keep things clean.

Your vagina needs no help from you to keep clean. This means that the delicate PH balance in there shouldn't be messed with. Douching with water and using soap and feminine hygiene products such as sprays and powders interferes with this balance and will cause you more problems than it's worth.

That burning sensation

Thrush thrives on the hormone oestrogen. If you are eating well, avoiding douching or putting products up your vagina and are generally healthy, then you should be able to avoid thrush. But in some cases, the high amount of oestrogen some women produce whilst on the pill can cause thrush to recur. Make sure you see your gynaecologist if this is happening.
If you're sexually active and struggle with thrush, then make sure both you and your partner get treatment to ensure that you aren't passing it on to one another. Sometimes semen can also interfere with the delicate PH balance of your vagina, so avoid sex while you're on thrush treatment.
Leave it in peace
