Oceania Announces Inaugural Season for New "Riviera"
It's about nine months 'til the official launch of Oceania Cruises 65,000-ton, 1,258-passenger Riviera, sister ship to this year's lovely Marina, and Oceania has just announced the ship's inaugural-season cruises, plus an early-booking deal: T ravelers who book by August 31 will receive a free hotel stay and bonus savings of up to $3,000 per stateroom, dependent on stateroom category.
Here's a rundown of the cruises:
Riviera’s maiden voyage, departing April 14, 2012, is a 10-day " Mediterranean Tapestry " cruise from Barcelona to Piraeus/Athens, visiting Marseille/Provence (France), Livorno/Florence/Pisa, Civitavecchia/Rome, and Amalfi/Positano (mainland Italy), Taormina (Sicily), Kusadasi/Ephesus (Turkey), and Santorini (Greece). On April 24, Riviera departs from Piraeus on a 12-day " Ancient Grandeur " itinerary, visiting Alexandria and Port Said (Egypt), Ashdod/Jerusalem and Haifa (Israel, the latter for an overnight), Rhodes and Patmos (Greece), and Kusadasi (Turkey), ending in Istanbul. On May 6, Riviera departs Istanbul on a 10-day " Greek Glory" voyage, calling at Mitilini, Mykonos, Piraeus/Athens, Cephalonia/Argostoli, and Corfu (Greece), Kusadasi (Turkey), Dubrovnik and Split (Croatia), ending with an overnight in Venice (Italy). Riviera's May 16 " Pearls of the Aegean " cruise includes an overnight aboard ship in Venice before visiting Dubrovnik (Croatia), Kotor (Montenegro), Corfu, Monemvasia, Santorini, Delos, and Mykonos (Greece), Aghios Nikolaos (Crete), and Kusadasi (Turkey), before ending in Piraeus/Athens. The 10-day " Mediterranean Tapestry " cruise departs May 26 from Piraeus/Athems, visiting Santorini (Greece), Kusadasi (Turkey), Taormina (Sicily), Amalfi/Positano, Civitavecchia/Rome, and Livorno/Florence/Pisa (Italy, the latter for an overnight), and Marseille (France), before ending in Barcelona. Riviera’s 12-day " Exotic Lands" cruise departs Barcelona June 5 and visits Mallorca, Valencia, Motril/Granada, and Cadiz/Seville (Spain), Funchal (Madeira), Lanzarote and Santa Cruz (Canary Islands), and Casablanca and Agadir (Morocco) before ending in Lisbon.
